Drama is a skill which can give all ages the chance to grow and develop in a fun and creative environment. It can offer physical and vocal confidence and develop the imagination and story telling skills. Through improvisation, scripted work, fun games, and vocal exercises drama helps to develop the children’s confidence and imagination.
Theatre Studio’s weekly drama classes are for children ages 5 and above. Each term we focus on different elements of drama along with a topic or particular play.
At the end of each term, there is always a brief presentation of the term’s work to family and friends.
Each year students alternate between working toward Trinity London examinations or a full-cast production.
The musical theatre classes focuses on a different musical or style of musical each term.
There is a structured warm up and then within dance, drama and song the children learn about the background and elements of the particular musical chosen each term. At least once a month vocal tuition is given to the children working on particular songs from the chosen show.
Theatre Academy is for students at school level of S1 and above and for those wishing to do more focused work within dance, singing and acting, developing their skills to further their potential and assist with audition techniques when required. No dance experience is essential to join the musical theatre classes.
As with the drama classes, the musical theatre classes also hold a presentation for family and friends at the end of each term.
Each year alternates between students working toward Trinity London examinations or a full-cast production.
